An impressive win for The Fenmen in some very heavy rain at times. I can't say how strong / weak the Holbeach side was that played tonight but the thing that impressed me was the way the Wisbech team, as a whole, attacked the goal and just didn't give up on any ball. In truth, it could have been 12 nil if we had been a little more clinical in our finishing but that's just being 'picky'. A good night out for £2

only got there at half time so only got to see the pen but the team looked great well impressed with number 10 tommy i thinnk. He fights for every ball even those he has no right to win we shold of had another penalty and with a bit more composure in the box could of had another three looks good for the start of the season

Most people would say that the UCL is not as good as the Ridgeons, but you may hear a different version if you asked the same question on a UCL club forum. The 'new' Kings Lynn is UCL and contains several ex-WTFC players, so 'levels' is subjective. As these have been 'friendlies', managers may have been trying out tactics and new players, so results aren't everything.
Let's see what happens when we have played the next 5 matches, including the FA Cup match. My opinion is: We have lost players to Kings Lynn and ALL have been replaced by better players. We now have a fitter, faster, stronger, more youthful side with still enough experience to keep the balance right. Game on.

totally agree i can tell you because i have been to watch em sorry! that a couple of our ex players are doing well cubberly and street but some are struggling on our performance tonight and what i've seen of lynn we would beat them and i ain't just saying that because i'm a wisbech lad as i also like to see lynn do well sorry! again as lynn is our second home for nights out shopping and such.but i think losing those players is a blessing in disguise and possibly the manager too the team i see tonight were playing with great desire which i think our new manager brings in can't wait for the season to get going now one last thing wish we had had a friendly vs lynn don't thisnk they would play us though

still a good result though--would have been a better game than the Boston one for me to watch-at least i would have got to cheer--you know that loss was the first one I'd see town lose since 1972

Wisbech are in Step 5 .(Ridgeon Premier). Kings Lynn and others (Holbeach ) are in step 6 which also includes Ridgeons Division One. This is according to the "Pyramid" which can be found on the Internet.

No, that's wrong. Ridgeons Premier and UCL Premier are both step 5.
See this page for more information.

I was being ribbed by a couple of Holbeach supporters about how we were playing their Reserves on Friday night.
They took great delight in telling me they were saving their first team players for a game against Ellistown of the East Midlands Counties League (the same as their FA Cup opponents Radcliffe Olympic, i.e. Step 6) the following day. I was therefore most amused to discover they lost that game 2-1, with their opponents apparently missing 11 1st team squad members!
I think the fact that they played the Reserves against us had more to do with the our possible FA Cup meeting next month (assuming we beat St Andrews and they beat Radcliffe Olympic) than anything else...
