News Reports for April 2010

Fenmen edged out in tense final Thu 29th Apr
Wisbech Town 1 - Mildenhall Town 3
(Half Time: 1-3. Attendance: 400)

Billy Smith gave Wisbech a 13th minute lead in the Final of the Cambridgeshire Invitation Cup, but Mildenhall equalised immediately and went on to score twice more in the second half without reply.

Lewis Thompson was sent off just before half-time and Paul Cousins was injured late on, which made the Fenmen's cause much harder.

Congratulations to Mildenhall who win the trophy for only the second time.

Cambs Invitation Cup Final Wed 28th Apr
The Fenmen will start as underdogs in tonight's Cambs Invitation Cup Final at the R Costings Abbey Stadium, Cambridge (kick off 7.30pm).

Stuart Cobb and Ash Murrell are the only players definitely missing from the squad as they have injuries which prevent them from taking any further part in this season.

Likely to be facing us is former left-back Jamie Thurlbourne, who played a handful of games under Steve Taylor in 2008.

Just a reminder for anyone going to the game:

“Any supporters using foul and/or abusive language and/or actions will be ejected from the Ground.

A Tea Bar will be open in the Ground serving the Main Stand.

There will be no parking available in either the Club’s main car park (in front of their offices) nor in the Corona Works (as this is privately rented). Street parking is available around the Ground.”

Everyone have a great night and let's hope the silverware is gracing the trophy cabinet of New Fenland Park next season.
