News Reports for April 2012

Eventful day for Bacon Sat 28th Apr
Having already been voted the Supporters' Player of the Season, Chris Bacon also picked up all the other awards at the First Team Presentation Evening which he was eligible to win.

He was the first team top scorer with 32 goals, and was picked by his team-mates as Players' Player of the Season and by Apps as the Manager's Player of the Season. This capped an eventful day for the striker as he had been sent off during the game at Brantham after picking up two yellow cards.

Ollie Gale won Best Young Player of the Season award.

There was also a silver salver for Chas Thompson who is stepping down from his role as Physio. Unfortunately, Chas couldn't attend so his son Lewy accepted it on his behalf.

Both Apps and Barry Carter said it had overall been a good season but we had fallen just a little bit short.

The Reserves and Youth Team awards will be made at a separate event next Saturday.

3rd place up for grabs! Tue 24th Apr
Brantham's 0-0 draw away at Gorleston on Tuesday night means that a win for the Fenmen at the Leisure Centre on Saturday would give them 3rd place. Any other result will see the home side take that position in the final table.

100th goal scored Sat 07th Apr
Denny Escorcio's first goal in Wisbech colours was the 100th scored by the Fenmen this sesason in all competitions.

Last season a toal of 111 goals were scored over the whole of the 54 game season with the century being brought up in the 50th game. This season will also have 54 games, but three figures was reached one game earlier. This is only the third time in ten seasons that the 100-goal mark has been exceeded and is still some way short of the 128 goals scored in just 51 games in 2005-06.
